assignment 4 task 4 redraft

This is my redraft as i found a few mistakes in my work for example capital letters comma's, and some of the sentences didn't make sense

Introduction

The product my advert was for was a Game Box, which contained 3 games, which are Mine Craft, Assassin’s Creed 3, and resident evil 6. This would be able to play on the PS3/4, xbox360/one and the computer. The target audience was people aged 16+ because people at the younger age would not be suitable for the violence in some of the games. We focused on both genders, as the gender of gamers is not important because you will get both kinds of genders playing the games.
The idea behind the advert

The idea behind the advert was mainly to get the viewer interested into the story of the advert so they would be interested in buying the Game Box. We did this by making it funny in the text so people would remember the advert also having a familiar face (Steve), as most people know him from Mine Craft. Another point is that this advert is part of a 3-part advert. This will be remember the advert as it could be shown during a TV series so people watching something like East enders as loads of people will be watching this program like adults elderly teens, people would be interested in what the advert was about while watching their favorite program. The advert starts with Mine Craft to get people interested, next Assassin's Creed 3 to draw in the audience, then resident evil to sell the product to the audience. The text will help as they will be random and have no meaning to what is happening only a few part of the text would make sense at the end of the advert. The text would make people remember the advert as it will make the audience laugh and remember and they will think about buying the Game Box because of this. I thought the best way to sell a product is to make the audience laugh.
The way I got my feedback was using a website called survey-monkey where I was able to create a survey so people can answer online at any given time. This was a good idea as they are able to answer this truthfully and I am able to see the results whenever I wanted. Another way I found feedback was doing a focus group where I got different people to watch my advert and answer questions after viewing my advert. The feedback if gathered was qualitative because it was mainly text of how the viewer felt while watching my advert. The questions I asked are as follows:
Do you think the advert was good in a rating of 1-10? 1 being was rubbish and 10 being very good
Do you think the advert was suitable to show the game mine craft?
What do you think the story is of the advert?
Does the advert make you want to buy the game box?
Do you think the text was suitable for the advert?
What would you say I should improve on in my advert?

This is my focus group where i asked questions about the advert to see how they felt about it. I asked the same questions as i did for the survey monkey as i felt they was the most important.

I asked these questions because I felt I wanted to find out all the main parts of the adverts was ok for example the reason I asked ''Do you think the text was suitable for the advert'' was because I wanted to audience to figure out that the text was from the Mine Craft game.

I asked these questions because I felt they was the more important questions I needed to ask to see if I need to improve on my advert.

People said about my advert they liked the text as it went with the advert. A lot of people said they would buy the product from seeing the advert only a few people said no maybe because they don't play games that much. People liked how it flowed with each shot others disagree. People like how people from the game are part of the advert being played by someone dressed as them. People didn't like the static and said I should ad less. A few of the comments surprised me as I didn't see that myself about if I could edit that to make it better but from another pair of eyes I am able to see from their experience something could be improved. I am happy with the feedback as I am able to improve my advert in a future time and make it much more enjoyable.

I feel the advert was good as the shots was steady only one part we had to pan it to show the news reported heading over to talk to one of the people which was a bit wobbly. But the rest of the advert went well. The advert clearly shows what it is trying to get people to buy as it talks about it at the beginning and at the end it shows an image of the information about the product. I feel the idea about the advert was good as it was something I enjoyed and wasn't hard to think up.

Improvements I could make was the banner and the text could be smaller so there was more room of what was happening. Also, less time in the newsroom and more of the interview. I feel I achieve my aim of the Game Box. I am very happy with the finished result as it went mostly how I planned.

my final advert

assignment 4 task 3

These are some of my results i got from survey monkey

After looking at the reviews i feel the responses from my questions are fair and i can learn what i need to do to make it better and what people found was good about my advert i found out that people would want the text smaller and would like more interview with the main person from the game steve. I found out people liked the text. Mostly people realise what the advert was about but that was like 2 or 3 people and the rest knew what the advert was about because they might of played it before or heard of it from a friend.

assignment 4 task 2

The methods you have used, e.g. a focus group, survey monkey
I will be doing a focus group with around 4-5 people. I will also be doing a survey on survey monkey

What the pros and cons of your chosen methods are
I will be able to see what the audiance feels about my advert and from my own eyes and not from a computer survey. I will be able to see their reactions from their facial expressions. The cons are people might lie about how they feel and write something that is not helpful.

The range of audience you collected feedback from, e.g. age, gender
The age will range between 16-19 years of age and mixed gender of males and females.

The questions i will be asking are as followed:
Do you think the advert was good in a rating of 1-10? 1 being was rubbish and 10 being very good
Do you think the advert was suitable to show the game mine craft?
What do you think the story is of the advert?
Does the advert make you want to buy the game box?
Do you think the text was suitable for the advert?
What would you say i should improve on in my advert?

The feedback is reliable as i know the people taking the survey can be trustworthy and will tell the truth about the advert

Assignment 4- Task One – Sources of Information

Then overall,

I have use the pre-production document a lot during filming as I've looked at it too figure out what we need to do for the advert. The pre-production was very helpful as it had all the information where I needed and what I needed to do in a certain way.

Script

I have had a look at the script I wrote in the pre-production and changed some parts of the scripts so it would make more sense I had to change it during the filming as it didn't look right while I was filming. The script was helpful though as I only changed a few bits to it. We added a few bits in as well to make it longer so it didn't seem too small of a advert as it would not get the attention of the viewer and they will not be interested in what the advert was about and I couldn't make the advert too long or they would get bored and lose interest.

Production Schedule

I found this very helpful, as I was able to organize when I need to get it done by so it does no overlap with each other and cause confusion with what I need to do. I followed this all the way though and got the work done by the dates set by myself. A few I had to go over, as I had to finish another day or get someone else done before I could finish that.

Production Schedule Location Visit Sheet

I was able to use this during figuring out when to or not to film because I was able to check if the day we was thinking of filming was going to be raining or not. We were able to check where we are going to film and where most of the noise of the road would be coming from. I am also able to check that we don't fall into any potential treats that could make our advert look bad. This is good so we are able to avoid them when possible. A way I could improve this next time is by adding more information next time like how could I not make these problems happen.

Call Sheet

I have found this part of the document good as I am able to look at who is looking after what during the filming and if something goes wrong with a peace of equipment then I will ask the person who was responsible of looking after the equipment. I am also able to look at what I need to collect e.g. items for clothing and props I need for the scene. I could improve this more by giving more on the information of what we need like assessors of clothing for each person (if needed).

Contingency Plan
This was helpful to some extent as it didn't have much information in this part but it still helps to some extent as it tells me how to counter the problems that could interfere in my filming. I could of added more information into this part explaining what I could do so I will not make mistakes and understand what is needed to be done.
Risk Assessment
I found this useful as I was able to see what risk that could happen and how dangerous they are and most of the problems that could happen was not really that dangerous and had a rank of about 2 which is not bad at all so it wasn't much of a concern to keep a eye on these problems as they would rarely happen. But it was still worth having a look at it.
Production Budget
This was useful to some extent as it tells me how much I would need to pay to get the equipment I need. But I didn't need to pay anything as I got the resources from the school so it wasn't useful
Shot List
I found this part of the document helpful, as I was able to look at the shots in the order and see what kind of shot it is and what is in the shot. I would of put more information in my next document to give myself more of a idea of what I am fully doing in the shots for example I could explain what certain people are doing.
Filming order
I didn't find this helpful, as I already knew what order I was doing the shots in so I didn't need to look at this part of the document. If I was going to use it I would be able to see what shots are to go in what order of the advert. To make this part better I would add more information next time.
